Sweet Charity Detroit Theatre reviews
Go for Rod
I went because my top two favorite musicians are Eric Clapton and Santana. The show was the Rod Stewart half! Santana's percussionists were perfection and the band members did their best, but I went to hear Santana and was sorely disappointed! At times my ears even hurt, I wish I had brought ear plugs! Because of the volume it was hard to hear the lyrics. Rod Stewart was better than better! He is the ultimate performer, and can still strut his stuff. The first set of music with Sweet Charity was too loud for the venue and seemed a little off because of the volume. I was disappointed. He interacted with the audience, the volume was perfect, set changes wonderful, blast from the past photos fun, band upbeat and wonderfully talented, especially the violin player. Loved that he brought in locals for the orchestra. People got up and danced. Rod still has it!"
